Founded in 2008 by two engineers, the company, then called Novace, started out in the ancillary market of construction and restoration of historic buildings, as well as assembly and maintenance services for companies.

Faced with the evolution of the construction sector in Spain, in 2010 the company took the strategic decision to start a new line of activity, changing its name to INTERGIA. The chosen sector was renewable energy, more specifically its application to economic activities in rural areas. The motto chosen for the company was “Sustainable Energy”. Already at that time, one of the founding partners started research work on off-grid energy systems.

During those years, the renewables sector in general and the photovoltaic sector in particular was highly volatile. However, as a result of its chosen niche, the company did not suffer from the uncontrolled growth and subsequent fallout from the vagaries of government energy policy. Subsequently, the administrative obstacles and the misinformation that spread about the viability of renewable energy did not favour its implementation either. Intergia took advantage of this period to consolidate its technology, innovate and intensify its R&D&I activity. Meanwhile, worldwide, the costs of photovoltaic generation fell dramatically.
